Red Hot’s recent album, Red Hot + Rio 2, is a tribute album to the legendary Brazilian musical movement, Tropicália. Recently, a new documentary approach on Tropicália had its Brazilian première during the It’s All True Festival, which ended last weekend in São Paulo. An Interns Review of Rio 2: Top 5 Must Listens
With the new release of Red Hot+Rio 2, diving into the content of the album could appear to be a daunting task. For starters, Rio 2 is not 1 but 2 full length CDs and takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to listen to from start to finish. At such extensive length it’s difficult…Read More +
Red Hot + Rio 2 Artists Featured In New Documentary

Tropicália – Pushing the Boundary of Song
For me, the glory of tropicália has always lay in it’s contradictions. It’s music that is experimental yet pop, playful yet serious; it’s anything-goes attitude was completely at odds with the military regime of the time. It baffled critics, the public and officialdom but has now become a marker upon which new Brazilian music is…Read More +

The Night Is Still Dark
Aaron & Bryce Dessner of The National have teamed up with Red Hot to produce a sequel to Dark Was The Night. The project is in the early stage of development and no artists have been approached or committed yet. (In spite of what some leaks on the Internet have reported.) But watch this space…Read More +
