You're young. You're creative. You want to help fight HIV and AIDS, with the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes. Does this sound like you? If so, Red Hot+Us and Amplify have a contest you won't want to miss! Red Hot+Us is lending its music to talented young filmmakers who are interested in creating an HIV/AIDS short film, music video, or public service announcement. The videos are intended to start a new dialogue about HIV/AIDS for OUR generation. Current teens and young adults- my friends, your classmates, our coworkers- need a voice of their own in the media to discuss the present issues with HIV and AIDS. The times have changed, and so have the people. Only the illness remains the same, which is why we need to fight it now more than ever. Who knows what could happen ten years down the road? Perhaps we can beat HIV/AIDS. Maybe our children will never have to experience the loss of a loved one to AIDS. It's all up to us, right here and right now. So please, pick up your camera, iphone, android- whatever- and film your message. It's time to compete for a cause!
And what about the prizes, you ask? Well, four winners will be selected through an online public vote and a panel of judges. Each winner will receive $2,500 and a trip to NYC to see their film premiere as part of Red Hot Organization's 20th Anniversary celebration during World AIDS Day 2011. Essentially, good stuff all around.
